A couple of finished pieces

Finished a couple of pieces yesterday. Let them lie in the sun to dry. They are happy little paintings. So many of you are freezing your butts off! They know
how lucky they are.  :o)

Hope you have a wonderful day.  Thanks for dropping in.

“Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.'

'Does it hurt?' asked the Rabbit.

'Sometimes,' said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. 'When you are Real you don't mind being hurt.'

'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?'

'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.”

  1. Both of these are beautiful Donna, you have such a talent. Love that you quoted my favorite book, I read that to my kids so many times it became a well loved (real) friend too. Big hugs, ~Diane

  3. Such wonderful and happy paintings Donna. I am one of those people who happen to love cold weather and snow and so far we have had no snow and not much cold weather. Well my joints are lucy goosy and yes my hair is definitely thinning. I want to be real but not so real that my eyes fall out!

  4. Yeah, two more finished and ready to hang in your upcoming gallery show. The bottom painting is a first view for me and I like it a lot. All of us should be in the sun reading a book.

    Hugs,
