Reworking the entire piece ......

Need I say more. It just wasn't working the way I wanted. Reworking the entire piece - like it much better. Close to being finished (I think) ha ha.

Thanks for dropping by with all your great comments.  Take care.

Coming down the home stretch

A couple more sessions of detail and I should be finished. I'm beginning to develop a relationship with each of them as I go along. Strange individuals with
even stranger stories to tell!  But, I digress - I'm sure they will share with you if you ask.

That's it for today.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you have a nice chat with the 'strange ones'.  Their stories seem to change on a regular basis.

“There are people who are generic. They make generic responses and they expect generic answers. They live inside a box and they think people who don't fit into their box are strange. But I'll tell you what, generic people are the strange people. They are like genetically-manipulated plants growing inside a laboratory, like indistinguishable faces, like droids. Like ignorance.”

The Latest

Cancelled my entire day yesterday because I felt rotten! So tired of this up and down. My tests are coming back more positive - so that's good. I'm on the right track. Still cannot predict how I'm going to feel when I wake up. Dislike that A LOT! Patience! Patience! I slept and I painted yesterday - not necessarily in that order.

Did make some progress on "The Gathering", although I must say I didn't enjoy it as I usually do. Nonetheless -- I think it's going to be an interesting piece -

Hope you have a great day.  Thanks for dropping by and for your comments.  Take care.

The Gathering is progressing ... slow but sure ....

Good grief this is a big canvas! Will it never end ... ha ha. Actually, I'm beginning to feel better and am enjoying working again - even if I can't work for such long periods at the moment.

The piece progressed quite a lot today -- here's the

slow but sure ....
Thanks for dropping by and leaving such great suggestions and comments.  I feel this is beginning to come together.  Take care.

"The Gathering" .......

Thanks for your comments - they really helped. As I worked today, I really felt it was a gathering - a reunion of long lost friends who had not seen each other for years. Perhaps they met while traveling and now their lives have totally changed. I'll let you make up your own story.

Still lots of work to do. I can't believe how long a 5' canvas is. :o) The background is not finished in this photo, however I did finish it tonight. Everything else is sort of blocked in - hoping to add lots of pattern and shape. We will see as I go along.

Thanks for dropping by - much appreciated.  Take care.  Starting to feel better, so I'll be putting the sangria back on in a few days --- you --- me -- on the terrace.  5:00 pm.  :o)

Maybe one day I can have a reunion with myself.

I haven't got a clue what I'm doing! HELP!

Well - I sat down in front of a blank slate, and all these people popped out onto a 5ft. X 3ft. canvas. I just keep going, but don't really have a clue what I'm doing - what to do with it - where I'm going with it. It's not talking to me! I thought perhaps it was some sort of wedding - anyway - I'm putting a huge bouquet of flowers in the hands of the girl with the green dress on the left hand side of the painting. Do you see, or understand something I'm not seeing and understanding? If so, PLEASE - put it in your comments.

Perhaps it doesn't need to make sense - perhaps is just is what it is!! At any rate - I'll just keep plodding along and see what happens. I've been blocking in mostly with acrylic just to see the colours. I will paint over with oil when I'm satisfied. I'm hoping to use a whole lot of pattern on their clothing and perhaps come in the background - but WHO KNOWS! It will be a complete surprise to me.
See what you think and let me know --- please!

My friend from Australia left yesterday, so the house is pretty quiet.  Always have an adjustment to make after people leave.  I truly would rather live with someone than live alone.  How about you?

Thanks for dropping by.  Take care of yourselves.  Would love your comments on this mystery!

 “Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything.”

Left overs.....

Some recent  photos from this and that - here and there.

This is the piece I am currently working on.  I've been feeling so rotten, this is moving along at a snails pace - however it is moving.

Doesn't this photo make you want some?

My chipmunk look!

My OMG!  I'm really really being serenaded!

My casual look.  "Are there really Mariachi's behind me?"  I'll just pretend I don't notice.

Could have sat there all day.

Nothing like a sea of flowers

Main building of Mexico Cities University.  Constructed completely of Mexican stone.  Free education for all here.

Coyote district - the square.  Near Frida's house.

Honestly, one the only things I recognized - the monument to Mexican Independence.  It's been a long time since I frequented Mexico City - the high rises have taken over.  I really would have to spend some time there to get my bearings again.

Ros on Reforma - one of the main thoroughfares I actually knew where I was.

A huge, beautiful Tree of Life outside one of the museums.

So many celebrations ... weddings ....

In this beautiful old Church.

The cloisters

Dinner at my house the night we came home from DF.  Wendy is practicing her stunned look.  :o)

An enjoyable evening.
Thanks so much for coming by.  We seem to be drinking a lot of champagne (when I'm feeling up to it) -- so it's champagne on the terrace.  See you at 5:00 pm.

Ros discovers Toller ....

Growing up in Australia, not being a huge fan of figure skating or art Ros spent her grown up life working with the Australian Foreign Service (adventures you would not believe).   Ros was more than a little 'shocked' when I took her for a tour of just part of Tollers' home. I'm not sure she could have taken the entire building all at once. It was fun to watch. She did a lot of giggling and OMG'd ing.
The photos tell the tale.  It was fun.

Haven't had time to blog.  Have actually been sick as a dog, which has been no fun at all while Ros is here!  However, what can one do.  I'll try and get around to visit you all soon.  Take care and thanks so much for dropping by.
