Long Range Planning ....

Hello my Sweets.  Hope this finds you all well and happy and making yourselves an amazing day.  My thoughts are on fast forward.  I'd like you to come along on a little journey with me.  Ready?  (oh!  come on ... it won't take long.)
I have so many long range plans, and am so excited about each and every one of them, thought I'd like to share.  Hope you will like to hear.

As you know, I'm moving back to Canada ... so I'm 'half' here and 'half' there.  My mind has already moved and is settled .. my body .. not so much.  :o)  I do have PLANS ... a very long list.  I will hit the highlights with you.

The collection of antique ledgers and photograph albums will be made into hand bound journals.  Here's an example of covers .. although there are more in storage!

The boxes of vintage jewelry and parts will be turned into creative, new, wearable pieces (love this!)

More spirit dolls and spirit sticks.

Approaching galleries, shows, exhibitions and competitions.  Perhaps selling at markets and doing some teaching.  A well planned social media system, all connected, where I can sell off the web.  Better blogging.

Meanwhile, I will settle into my new home, paint, decorate, get a car, have my health taken care of, make friends, have parties, go out to social functions .... blah blah blah.

Think it's all tooooooo much?  Actually, so do I, however, what the hell!  We only live once and I need to get it all out of my system.  Did I mention writing?  I want to have something published!

Almost laughable isn't it.  However, that and more thoughts are whirring through my brain and break neck speed.  I've lost Toller Cranston ... my huge support system, my oak tree, so I'm off on my own to make it all happen.  Only wish I was about 20 years younger.  Not the case, so I had better get moving!
OH ... and forgot about the garden -- completely revamp the yard as there is nothing there but grass.  Plant ornamentals, flowers, fruit trees, build out door gazebo .. decorate same..  IMPORTANT:  Paint house door RED immediately.
Are you rolling in the isles yet?  Me too.  How much do you think I will accomplish?  Let's wait and see.  I'll keep you posted.
Just love hearing from all my old blogging buddies, and some new ones.  Such a treat.  You are still the kind, loving friends I left here a year ago.  A blessing to be sure.
Well, my lovelies -- I'll leave you with those ludicrous thoughts, while I try to sell the house and get myself back to the Island and settled once more.  As I say, I could add to the list, however don't want to leave you in shock.  During all of this, of course, I will paint my brains out ....
Thanks for dropping by.  Such a pleasure to hear from all of you.  And such fun that I will see some or you again soon.

  1. That's a big list, all right! But all such fun to think about and plan. As a fellow list-maker, I find it energizing to put it all down in a list to make room for even more thoughts. Creative minds- they work in fast forward, yes? Those ledgers and albums look mighty inviting- my vote is to start there. But then there's the jewelry... that's awfully appealing, too. I'm right there with you!

  2. Hey Sugar!!!!! You have me all excited - I think you will accomplish more of this than you think! What island - Victoria Island? It is gorgeous there! Cold weather - what cold weather - great to bundle up - stay indoors - have a hot toddy or two and as you say paint your brains out. More Nuns - I sure do hope so. Selling your makes on Ebay -- Oh I sure do hope so ...... Your jewelry is fantastic and would you sell any of the art journals? Oh I sure do hope so! You have such exciting plans Donna and I looking forward to hearing about your journey! I follow this lady in Great Britain that does fabulous work. Every post she gives you a blow by blow description of how she does her mixed media. She told me that she did it this way so she could have a record of what she did and how she did it. Now I know you could not do that with your paintings but you could do that with a journal of journey -- I would love to go on that journey with you. You are so much fun and have incredible talent and vision!!!
I am with you kid - every step of the way!!!!!

  3. Oh Donna - can I use your quote? First of all I would like to put it on my bulletin board and secondly I would love to put it on my blog header. For it is truly the way I feel! About time at my age!
    Thanks - Sandy xx

    1. Oh my sweet Sandy -- it is not 'my' quote, but belongs to the world. If it was mine I'd be so happy to share it with you. Use it! It will be wonderful on your blog. I too feel the same way ... wish you weren't so far away. I think I still have your email - One of these days, when things get settled down, I have so many questions for you. In the meantime ... try and behave yourself! hugs xoxox

  4. Good morning, Donna. I have no doubts that you will accomplish each and every one of the items you listed today. I remember viewing journals that you sold a couple of years ago and the jewelry you made. The spirit dolls were a big hit also. And, we all love the way you write so that will be something to look forward to not just here on your blog but a book....WOW. Have a great weekend painting.
    Hugs,
    C

  5. Well, you sure have a lot planned, and I wish I could pop over and help you. And LOVE the idea of painting the door red. I think in the house where I live they would all have a fit if anyone dared to paint their door red! I have faith in you Sweetie, you will manage it all! Was lovely talking to you today! BIG hugs, Valerie

  6. Me again, just remembered this wonderful quote from Michelangelo, just right for your plans:The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.
