Missing the Color ....

Hello my Lovelies!  Happy New Year!  The slate is clear, let's make it a great year.

I must say, I am missing the sunshine, the colour and the warmth of my home in Mexico.  The grey which prevails here in the winter, is simply not my style.  However, I shall adjust in time and perhaps it will even become beautiful, for I know there is a beauty about it.

With my dollar store supplies of no name brand acrylics, a couple of brushes, and some duck tape, I decided to attempt a journal page expressing my feelings.  As you may be aware, I came to Canada for a short stay originally ... so did not bring any toys with me.  The $ store has saved me from a life with no creative outlet.  lol  So ... here is my little page.  It's been fun.

Using some duck tape and washi tape from the dollar store, I created a little colour!

Thanks so much for dropping by.  I adore your comments ... and remember, Enjoy The MOMENT!

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

~ Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

  2. Love the snow on the mountains and the colorful trees. I was beginning to think you would dip into the paint buckets to keep your muse active. Mr. K must have used it all on the walls. Thanks for the new year painting and continue, art is wonderful coming from you.
    Hugs,
    Carolyn

  3. I agree with Valerie-Jael, the layers do add sunshine to the winter.

I have come to appreciate snow because I can see the tracks of all the animals and birds that visit my house, which go unnoticed in the summer!

I hope you adjust to Canadian winters soon!

    Best wishes,
    Renee

  17. I think you are so talented and creative Donna that you could possibly make sunshine!
We're having a completely grey dark day here in Bonnie Scotland and I'm struggling with the lack of light. I came over from Australia two years ago and miss the Southern Hemisphere light so much, even though I was born here.
You are also being so creative with your Dollar store purchases. So clever!
I wish you all you would wish yourself and much more... with bags of creativity thrown in. Although I don't think you need it. You've already got enough! ;D
