Wishful Thinking

My lovelies!  It's raining cats and dogs here.  Pelting down!  I hope you are enjoying your winter weather.

Quick journal page today.  About 'Wishful Thinking'.  I can almost feel the colour of Mexico slipping away from me, which actually terrifies me.  I really don't want to go back to the soft grey/blue/green colours of the West Coast, no matter how beautiful they are, and indeed they are.  I found my voice in Mexico ... the real me when it comes to creating.  I simply don't want it to slip through my fingers and my paint brush.  Thinking of ways to keep it vibrant.  Linking this to Art Journal Journey.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  You are appreciated.  Enjoy the moment.

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.”

  5. Do you have any idea how really beautiful this is Donna -- For me -- this is one of your best. I think I might just have to try to copy it. I love the paint brush marks and the colors. Big sigh!!! Is this a canvas? Is this done with acrylics? I absolutely adore this painting. I only wish I could go and stay on Vancouver Island some where near you and take lessons.
It would seem that your life experiences, your time in Mexico and now your returning to your home has led to some marvelous expressions from your heart. And Sugar - just like you, they are beautiful!

  10. The colors of your piece are so vibrant and warm, like I picture your home in Mexico. But I think you put in a little bit of Canada too with those pine trees you added. That leafless tree doesn't feel very Canada to me, but it is really an interesting shape. Keep your spirits up. It won't be winter forever!
