An Evening at the Luna Bar

Hello my Lovelies.  Hoping you ae having a wonderful day no matter where in the world you are.

As tradition dictates, when friends are in town, at least one evening at The Luna Bar, watching the sunset over San Miguel, is absolutely compulsory.  Actually, even when friends are not in town, it's compulsory!

Voted the best roof top bar in the world, The Luna Bar offers it's many treasures to the weary traveler, and, of course, to young woman like us, just out for a good time.  :o)  The food is superb, the drinks 'moreish' (meaning you always want more than one), the waiters warm and congenial, the atmosphere most inviting, and the view of this old 1500's colonial town nothing less than spectacular.  One can loose oneself in any or all of these earthly pleasures, settling in for the evening quite nicely, until suddenly you realize time has passed, it is cold, the wind is blowing, and it's time to say good nite to this magical place.

Tonight was such an evening.  We settled in early, ordering small rounds of food and drink, enjoying the chatter of what our day had surprised us with.  As the light changed, we took photos, the fires in the middle of the tables were lit, the live band began to play, blankets were snuggled around us and settled back into our chairs to enjoy every moment.

This old Colonial Town and the view, never cease to hold magic for me.

Jennifer tries a round of Margarita samplers.

The fire pits in the middle of the tables are lit.

The live band begins to play.  "Norwegian Wood" ... my toe begins to tap ...

 Myself, Kathleen and Jennifer

The view of this old town is pure magic.

The sun sets behind the old colonial buildings.

Darkness sets in, we wrap ourselves in our shawls and call Ruben to take us home.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Hope you enjoyed your visit.  Take care, and enjoy the moment.

You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place. – Miriam Adeney

  4. Oh Sugar - this place really looks magical -- I want to go there so badly. But the stock market has lent us a blow -- no surprise there --- We were going to live in Ecuador but my age and medical history said perhaps not. I guess we were wise. I was so longing to the adventure. I would dearly love to try this place in Mexico but having some of the same problems that you encounter -- it will have to remain in my dream life.
Loved your pictures Donna and that Margarita sampler looks divine -
Love you sugar -- Sandy xx
