Saying Goodbye

Hello my Lovelies.  I know it's been a few days since I posted.  Busy, Busy, Busy.  Everything is done at Quinta de la Luz, the Closing is tomorrow morning .. so wish me luck.

It's not easy saying goodbye to a place I have loved as much as I have coveted Quinta de la Luz.  I think designing and building something from the ground up makes a difference .. not sure.  Not only am I leaving my home, I am leaving my beloved Mexico.  A place I have fallen deeply in love with.

Closing is tomorrow morning ... here's hoping all goes well and it will be finished.  I can relax.

Thanks for dropping by.  Always a pleasure to read your comments.

Tonight I'll shave the mountain
I'll cut the hearts from pharoahs
I pull the road off of the rise
tear the memories from my eyes
and in the morning I'll be gone

from a song by Tom Waits

  1. It's always so sad to see an empty place, and I know how you are feeling, but you have managed it, well done. And now you have some days to relax, enjoy the sunshine and have fun! Hugs, Valerie

  2. Gone but never forgotten :D XXX

  3. Donna, thinking of you on this emotional day.... I know you are right about building from the ground up. When the home we had designed and built in the hills of San Marcos burnt to the ground, we were devastated- even tho it had been 13 years since we lived there. Its such an investment of time and energy....It's been in the 50's up here and there is sunshine ahead so spring and new adventures await!

  4. Including love to help with the transition. Enjoy ythe days remaining by visiting SMA with a tourist eye. When time allows I hope you write a book on this fantastic and marvelous adventure.

  5. So sad - I feel with you Donna!
But how great that all is managed so far!
Wishing that everything goes well furthermore!
