Hello my Lovelies. It is actually COLD here ... so hoping you are all cozy and warm.
Last year I did a series of "The Owl and the Pussycat", a poem I always adored when I was little and in fact still do. The lines which say "And they took honey and plenty of money, wrapped up in a five pound note" were always a mystery to me as I simply could not understand how a note could weigh five pounds!
I am choosing the piece where the the are sitting on the beach having a picnic, by the light of the moon, and Owl is playing is guitar and singing to pussy. Linking to Art Journal Journey, where the theme is "If music be the food of Love". I think this piece fits perfectly.

The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you are having a wonderful day and enjoying each moment.

Love this, Donna! That is one pampered puss, munching on fish and being serenaded in the moonlight. You even have the "beautiful pea green boat" in the painting. Oh, that elegant fowl. I always loved that poem, too.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you share this painting for Art Journey, it is perfect for the musical theme and a fantastic painting. Stay warm.
