A Little More Kitchen Space ...

Hello my Lovelies.  It's cold here today ... spring is taking a break.  Is spring visiting you yet?

Story.  I wanted a very small kitchen island.  Unfortunately, the design of this old kitchen is very poor -- so much wasted space, badly positioned appliances and little counter to work on.  Ray found a little table he was going to modify.  I decided it was all tooooo much and ordered one on line.  It was delivered yesterday.  I had every intention of having a handy man assemble it.  Last night Ray came over to cut the lock off the shed to which there was no key.  I had made a huge pot of soup so he stayed for dinner.  Spied the box labeled kitchen cart!  Jumped up after dinner, said, "I'll put that together for you.", and he was off at full speed.  There is no stopping this man, even when I objected.

This thing has directions.  "Do you want to see a photo of it, I asked?"  "No, I like a challenge, thanks."

"Well, I might have a crack at the directions."

"Yup - this seems to fit here ...."

"I'll just use a little trick my Dad taught me to make this door fit better."

Voila ... a new and very useful kitchen island/cart.  I can literally move it to another room when having guests for dinner and want to fully open up the table.  YEAH!

Also hung the drapes on the main window.  Starting to come together.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are making yourself a wonderful day enjoying each moment.

“Gracious acceptance is an art - an art which most never bother to cultivate. We think that we have to learn how to give, but we forget about accepting things, which can be much harder than giving.... Accepting another person's gift is allowing him to express his feelings for you.”

Your "floating" island is a brilliant use of space and it looks so nice too.
Perfect quote about accepting graciously too.
Often times it is much easier to give than to receive.
Spring arrived here in the Wash DC area with a wet chill...so it's a not yet but blooms are popping which is always a most welcome sight.
