Home again, home again, gigidy gig .....

Hello my lovelies.  How are things in your world today?

I have arrived safe and sound on Vancouver Island.  A long day, and must say I was sick for the last couple of hours on the plane before it landed in Vancouver.  Sat with a wet towel on my head.  At any rate ... made it without incident, whisked through customs and straight to my hotel room where I spent the night.  By morning, I felt much better.  Flew to the Island, arriving at 9:30 am.  Ray picked me up and we went for a lovely walk by the ocean and out for breakfast.

My belongings are 'on the road'.  Currently have crossed the Mexican border into the USA and last I heard they were in Texas.  Expecting another update shortly.  Should be arriving sometime this weekend.

Meanwhile, back at the house, Ray has been working his little fingers to the bone.  The kitchen is painted - albeit a different colour than I expected -- what can I say.  I may get used to it -- or I may get brave and make some changes.  The entire house is painted (its beautiful), crown molding up, doors painted, baseboards down, floor laid, heat pump installed and in working order.  This should cut my electrical expenses in half.  YEAH.  The rugs arrived and the one in the living area is down.

We spent the day yesterday looking and shopping for many things including dishwashers.  Bought ceiling fans, felts for the bottom of chairs and tables, wheels to put on the kitchen island which is being built, looked at sheds and purchased one.  It will be great for my art supply storage centre as the studio is so small.  Guess who's going to build it.  How very fortunate I am!

First of all, let me say, Reyes came to visit me every day I was sick.  Brought me roses.  I'm really going to miss all of my wonderful Mexican Family.  Ruben stopped by and presented me with 'baby Jesus" which is very very Mexican and a tradition.  All his prayers for me will come through the baby and we will always be connected.  So very touching.

Here are some photos of what is going on at the house:

Ray reading directions.  A new concept.  :o)

OK, I think this is going to work ...

 Almost there ...

Now, if I can just get those wires stuffed in there ...

LOVE my new floor.  The colour is perfect.

 Looks great with the carpet.

Fan is up and running, as is the heat pump.

Track lighting up and working beautifully.  It will be a great wall to hang art.

That about wraps it up for today.  Perhaps I'll take you into the bedroom tomorrow. A few things are happening there.

Thanks for dropping by.  Always a pleasure to read your beautiful comments.  Take care of each other and enjoy the moment.

  6. I'm glad you've landed safe and sound, Donna! What a transition, and how sad the flight was dampened by feeling sick. Air travel is challenging enough without that, isn't it? Excited that you are now so much closer to Patty and I up in our little corner of the planet. This means maybe we can visit sometime! Looks like Ray knows what he's doing, you are in good hands. Sleep well, may the angels watch over you.
