Playing with Inktense ....

Good morning my lovelies.  It's 1:40 am ... I am wide awake.  Thought I would blog.  One has to keep oneself amused if one can't sleep!  Seriously, I find it much easier to get up and do something rather than toss and turn.

Awhile ago, the lovely Sandy sent me a package which included a beautiful set of Inktense by Derwent.  I've played with them in different ways, however never in my journal to do a small painting.  Certainly different than oils, or acrylic with an extender - I had great fun.  More like watercolour which I find I don't have much control over and am not very good at.  The ink itself is beautiful .. and for my first serious attempt in my art journal I am satisfied.  More practice obvious required.

I don't know if I told you about my 'secret garden' project.  There is a place behind the shed, which can be made very private.  Ray dropped in the other night and layed the quartz.  Much more work is required.  A 6 ft. privacy fence of rolled fernwood with go around the area -- then some furniture etc.  I'll keep you posted.  I'm excited about this little spot.

Nice to see you here today.  Thanks for all your lovely comments.  It's always great to hear from you.  The beginning of a new week.  What are you up to?  It's sort of cold and rainy here on the Island.  I'm still busy sorting boxes.  Began to set up my studio this week.  HOORAY!

“No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!”

  12. Good job with the Inktense! It is my fave creativity tool, since a dear friend loaned me hers several years ago. I use them alone or as detail on watercolor. Your beautiful secret place makes me wish I had one. But I guess I do...just not as artful as the one your friend made you. I always love your postings, AND your quotes!
